Snow Play and Tobogganing –
For many years young families have appreciated the lack of crowds, friendly atmosphere and tranquil beauty of our natural winter wonderland. If your aim is to avoid the crowds and hectic pace of crowded toboggan slopes in the larger resorts then we have the winter playground to suit you.
The main Mt.Stirling Tobogganing and snow play area is adjacent to the car park at Telephone Box Junction. Easily accessible to that change of warm clothing, in the boot of your car, if the kids get a bit wet. Equally accessible to the warm and friendly Mt.Stirling Bistro, where parents can sit with a hot chocolate or cappuccino overlooking the toboggan slope.
There is plenty of safe space for snow balls to be thrown and snowmen to be built, so come up and join in the family fun. Warm snow walking boots, wet weather gear and both standard toboggans and the more maneuverable carve toboggans are available from Stirling Experience in the Hire Shop. If you would like to explore a little rent a pair of snow shoes from our hire shop and take a leisurely stroll around our well marked trails.
The Resort team has been busy during the summer creating a new snow play and toboggan area at King Saddle for this season. Snow reliability is a little better here and it provides visitors with the ability to see a little more of the beautiful Alpine Ash forest within which the Mt.Stirling Alpine Resort is set. Visitors will be able to catch an exciting ride through the resort on the new snow-rider shuttle transport to access King Saddle, located 2 kilometres up the Circuit Road trail from Telephone Box Junction.

Snow-play visitors will also be able to catch the service to the new toboggan and snowplay areas at Alby’s drop and King Saddle.
Novice Ski Trail Extensions –
Trail work has been undertaken on Lyabird, Fork Creek and Wombat trails to extend the novice (Green) sections of trail to develop easier loops across the mountain on both the lower and upper trail network.
