Cross Country Ski Lessons

Cross Country Ski School Lessons are available at all levels and in all cross country disciplines including Diagonal Stride, Skating and Telemark. Our local and international staff are professionally qualified, so whether you are just starting out, an alpine skiing wanting to give cross country a try or want to advance by improving your technique, we have the class to suit your requirements. Lessons do make a difference and help to eliminate all those bad habits that prevent your progress.

NOTE: All Ski School lesson prices include a FREE day pass on the Snow-Rider Shuttle service when operating.

Thursday’s Mountain Snowshoe tour – Hire, Lunch & Guide

Every Thursday from 10:30am to 2:30pm with a packed lunch to enjoy in one of the mountain huts.

Weekend packages include two days skiing and they represent a discount of up to 30% over the standard pricing. They are available throughout the declared season and for the entire week, including week-ends.

Mt.Stirling is adjacent to Mt.Buller so you can combine your downhill skiing with a few days of Cross Country. Save money and avoid the Buller crowds by enjoying the shelter and pleasure of Mt.Stirling’s Cross Country ski trails on a weekend. Lessen the load on the back pocket by bringing the family up for a couple of days of cross country fun. Invite your partner to enjoy a leisurely ski and romantic picnic amongst the snowgums or if skiing is not for you then ask us to provide you with a set of easy to use snow shoes instead.

Cross Country Skiing Check List

Plan to carry a small day pack with

Water bottle,

Energy food such as chocolate, nuts, barley sugar

Emergency clothing plan for – windproof, waterproof and warmth.

Plastic ground sheet or thermal blanket

Map, Compass & Whistle

Gloves and hat

Dress in layers of clothing rather than bulky suits.
Always fill in an Intensions Form and leave with the Ski Patrol or local police.

Mt Stirling Skiing Experience

All Cross Country Ski Trails at Mt.Stirling are marked with Orange trail markers. The first marker on each trail also has a green, blue or black marker to indicate the level of difficulty of the trail. Please ski only on those trails which you or your group is able to manage and note that the summit area is NOT suitable for beginners. Ask the Ski Patrol or the Ski School on the mountain for advice if you are unsure. Do not ski on closed trails and please remove your skis where indicated on trails which have limited snow cover.
