Mt Stirling Transport
Mt Buller & Mt Stirling share a common Resort Entry gate situated at Mirimbah on the Mt Buller Tourist Road 30 kilometres from Mansfield. Once you have entered, turn immediately left across the Delatite River bridge and follow the Stirling Road 9 kilometres to the nordic centre car park at Telephone Box Junction. The Resort Ski Patrol, Ski Hire, Ski School and Bistro, together with snow play, toboggan area and Cross Country trail head are conveniently located adjacent to the car park.
Mountain Entry
A winter Management Resort Entry Fee is charged and has to be purchased on-line at least 1 day prior to your visit to ensure availability by visiting the Resort Entry Fee page on the Mt.Buller/Mt.Stirling Management web site. BOOK AHEAD HERE
They call it “The Beast”. It is unique, the kids love it and it is one of the most capable 4WD’s ever built. Stirling Experience’s Mercedes Unimog 1700L operates daily, during the ski season, between the Resort Entrance at Mirimbah and the Nordic base at Telephone Box Junction (TBJ). You can catch the V-Line Bus through to Mansfield and connecting service to Mirimbah or drive through to Mirimbah and park for free. No need for chain hire or nerves on the mountain road. The Stirling Experience daily service includes your Resort entry charge delivers you to Telephone Box Junction and return.

Park your vehicle at Mirimbah and catch the free Stirling Express 4WD Bus Shuttle service to the Nordic Centre at Telephone Box Junction (TBJ). This Resort Sponsored service is available on Saturday and Sunday only, each week-end. Departs Mirimbah Stirling Rd Car Park 10:00am. Returns from TBJ to Mirimbah 3:00pm. The Nordic Centre on Mt.Stirling is located at Telephone Box Junction and has an altitude of 1240 metres, while the summit of the mountain at 1749 metres this provide a vertical fall of 500 metres from the wide open snow fields through magnificent snow-gum forests and into the temperate rain forest of tall alpine ash.
The skiing and snow play mid-season is fantastic directly from the mountain car park, however we do have periods when snow conditions recede from lower levels requiring a walk of up to 2.5 km to reach the snow line. During these periods Stirling Experience operate the Snow-rider shuttle service. This fun open sided vehicle offers a great visitor experience for up to 30 passengers transporting them into the higher reaches of the resort for snow-play, tobogganing, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Visitors can purchase a day ticket (Adults $12, Children $8, Infants Free) riding the service as many times as they like during the day of purchase. A fun way to see the resort and reach the snow.
